Taco Truck Catering: What's Actually in Our Taco Packages

When people ask about taco truck catering, the first question is usually "what do my guests actually get?" Fair question. A lot of caterers say "taco bar" and leave it there. So here's the plain version of what's in The Lime Truck's taco packages, what each taco is, and how it works for events in Orange County, San Diego, and the rest of SoCal.

The Taco Package

Our Taco Package is the straightforward one. Each guest gets one trip to the truck, two tacos of their choice, and House Chips and Pico on the side.

Guests choose from four tacos:

  • Sweet and Spicy Steak Taco: marinated steak, AZN slaw, crispy wontons, cilantro chimichurri, and sesame seeds. This one has some heat.
  • Rojo Chicken Taco: all-natural chicken, tomatillo pico de gallo, lime slaw, cotija cheese, pickled red onions, and fresh lime.
  • Mr. Potato Taco: twice-fried peewee potatoes, tomatillo pico de gallo, cilantro chimichurri, and green onions. Our meat-free pick in this package.
  • Seared Ahi Tuna Taco: wild-caught tuna with TLT signature seasoning, lime slaw, zesty guac, pickled red onions, and fresh lime.

The chips and pico are house-made tortilla chips with tomatillo pico de gallo and our signature seasoning.

It's a good fit for office lunches, birthdays, and any event where you want people fed well without a long decision at the window.

Want more than two tacos? Two other packages

If you want more variety, two other packages on our catering packages menu add tacos and sides:

Signature TLT Package. One trip per guest, with two tacos or one entree, plus a side, guac, and chips and pico. This one adds the Trippy Mushroom Taco, made with ponzu-marinated mushrooms, AZN slaw, crispy wontons, cilantro chimichurri, sesame seeds, and lime. The SoCal Steak Quesadilla is the entree, and Mexican Street Corn is on the sides list.

Taste Le Truck Package. Our most popular, and it's unlimited. Guests can get up to two mains and two sides per visit and come back. Sides include Mexican Street Corn, Legendary Brussels, Zesty Guacamole, and House Chips and Pico, plus drinks or churros.

All of them can be customized. Taco-only spread, swap in a favorite, extra churros, it's all on the table.

What's included with taco catering

Our taco catering packages include two hours of on-site service, setup, and cleanup. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are always available, and plates, utensils, and napkins are included. Everything is cooked on the truck in front of your guests, with zero seed oils thanks to our partnership with Zero Acre Farms.

If you'd rather have a build-your-own setup where guests choose their toppings, read about The Lime Truck taco bar.

Taco truck catering in Orange County

Orange County is home. We started in Irvine in 2010, and we cater taco events all over the county, from Newport Beach and Laguna Beach to Costa Mesa, Anaheim, Tustin, and Mission Viejo.

OC is also the only place we offer drop-off catering without the truck. If you need tacos at a boardroom meeting or a small office gathering, ask about drop-off.

Call our OC line at (949) 232-0690.

Taco truck catering in San Diego

San Diego is a newer market for us, and we're upfront about it. We operate from 4637 Market St and our San Diego Google profile is at 4.9 stars from 22 reviews so far. We cater the Gaslamp, Little Italy, East Village, Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, North Park, Point Loma, and up the coast to Del Mar and Carlsbad.

Downtown office lunches, brewery events, and backyard parties are a natural fit for tacos. Call our San Diego line at (619) 373-1870.

And everywhere else

We also cater taco events across LA County from our Glendale location, plus the Inland Empire, Palm Springs, and Santa Barbara. Travel fees may apply for farther venues.

Taco Package or taco bar?

Pick the Taco Package if you want simple and fast. Guests choose two tacos from four, grab chips and pico, and they're done. It's great for lunches and events where people are eating between other things.

Go with a build-your-own taco bar if the food is the main event and you want guests to pick their own toppings. It's more interactive and works well for weddings and long parties. If you're stuck between them, tell us your guest count and the vibe of the event, and we'll point you to the one that fits.

How many tacos per guest?

The Taco Package answers this for you: two tacos per guest, plus chips and pico. If you think your crowd will want more, look at the Taste Le Truck Package, which lets guests come back for more. When in doubt, tell us about your group and we'll suggest a package.

Planning tacos for a holiday party

We're heading into holiday party season, and tacos are an easy win for a December office party. They're quick to serve, easy to eat standing up, and work for almost every diet. Holiday dates book early, and the first deposit on a date holds it, so if your party is set, send us the date now.
