Is The Lime Truck Available for a Wedding in Los Angeles on Short Notice?

Is The Lime Truck Available for a Wedding in Los Angeles on Short Notice?

Sometimes, yes. The Lime Truck often has short-notice availability for Los Angeles weddings, particularly on Fridays, Sundays and weekdays. Peak Saturdays in spring and fall are usually booked months ahead. The only way to know your specific date is to call (323) 417 6721, and we can typically answer within the same business day.

    How Does Availability Actually Work?

Our calendar is not uniformly full. It fills in a predictable pattern, and understanding that pattern tells you a lot about your odds before you even call.

    • What fills first: Saturdays in May, June, September and October. These are peak Southern California wedding dates and they are typically claimed six to twelve months out.
    • What fills next: Saturdays in the shoulder months, then Fridays in peak season.
    • What stays open longest: Sundays, Fridays outside peak season, and weekday weddings. These are genuinely available on shorter notice far more often than couples expect.

So the honest answer depends almost entirely on which date you are asking about. A Sunday in February with six weeks notice is very likely workable. A Saturday in June with three weeks notice usually is not.

What Are Realistic Lead Times for an LA Wedding?

These are the windows we actually work within, by guest count.

    • Under 75 guests: Three to six weeks is often enough, and we have done less. Smaller weddings are the most flexible because they need one truck and standard staffing.
    • 75 to 150 guests: Six to ten weeks is comfortable. Below that is possible but depends heavily on the date.
    • 150 to 250 guests: Ten weeks or more is ideal. Short notice at this size is harder because staffing and product volume both scale up.
    • 250 or more: Twelve weeks or more. At this size we may need multiple service points, and short-notice bookings become genuinely difficult rather than just tight.

For context on the broader picture, The Knot and WeddingWire both track vendor booking timelines, and catering is consistently among the vendors couples are advised to secure early. Most couples book catering well in advance, which is exactly why short-notice availability exists at all: the dates left open are the ones that did not fit someone else's plan.

Why Can Glendale Turn Things Around Faster?

Our Los Angeles home base is at 1936 W Glenoaks Blvd in Glendale, and for short-notice weddings that location matters more than it does for a booking made a year out.

From Glendale we reach most LA metro venues quickly: Burbank, Pasadena, Hollywood, Downtown LA, the Valley, the West Side and up toward Malibu. Short transit means less scheduling friction, which is the difference between "we can make that work" and "we cannot stretch that far on that day."

It also means our crew already knows the venues. For a wedding three weeks out, there is no time to discover that a venue has a tight access road or a loading restriction. We have usually been there before.

What Can and Cannot Be Accommodated on Short Notice?

This is where being straight with you is more useful than optimism.

    What usually works

    • Standard menu selections from our existing offerings
    • Guest counts under about 150
    • Fridays, Sundays and weekdays
    • Venues we have worked before
    • Build-your-own station format, which is our most operationally flexible setup

    What gets difficult

    • Peak Saturdays in spring and fall, frequently unavailable regardless of guest count
    • Large guest counts requiring multiple trucks or extra service points
    • Heavily customized menus that need sourcing lead time
    • Venues requiring permits with long processing windows
    • Venues that demand a certificate of insurance filed weeks in advance, which is a venue rule we cannot shortcut

    What short notice costs you

Fewer menu options, less room to iterate on details, and less flexibility if your guest count shifts afterward. It is not that the food or service drops. It is that the planning runway is shorter, so decisions get made faster and changed less. Couples who book early get more chances to refine.

What Should I Have Ready for a Same-Day Answer?

Five things let us check your date and respond quickly rather than going back and forth.

    • 1. Your wedding date and the service window you have in mind
    • 2. Venue name and full address, since we may already know the site
    • 3. Estimated guest count
    • 4. Reception timeline, especially when you want food served
    • 5. Any dietary needs across your guest list

Send these through our inquiry page or call the Glendale line directly. With those in hand we can usually tell you yes or no the same business day. Our wedding catering page covers what a full reception booking includes.

What If My Date Is Already Taken?

It happens, particularly on peak Saturdays, and it is worth having a plan.

    • Ask about adjacent dates. If your venue has flexibility, moving to a Friday or Sunday dramatically widens your options with almost every vendor, not just us.
    • Ask about the service window. Sometimes a date is partially committed rather than fully booked. A shifted serving time occasionally makes it workable.
    • Consider late night service only. If full reception catering is not possible, we can sometimes still handle a late night taco service at 10 or 11 PM as a smaller commitment. Many couples tell us this ends up being the moment guests remember most anyway.
    • Ask us directly for alternatives. If we genuinely cannot serve your date, we would rather tell you early so you can book someone else than string you along. Early honesty is worth more to you than a maybe.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Lime Truck available for a wedding in Los Angeles next month?

Sometimes, depending on the specific date. Fridays, Sundays and weekdays are frequently open on short notice. Peak Saturdays in spring and fall are usually booked months ahead. Call (323) 417 6721 with your date and we can typically confirm availability the same business day.

How quickly can you confirm a wedding date?

Usually the same business day once we have your date, venue address, estimated guest count, reception timeline and dietary needs. Having those five things ready is the difference between a quick yes or no and several days of back and forth.

What is the shortest notice you can work with?

For weddings under 75 guests on a non-peak date, three to six weeks is often workable and we have done shorter. Larger weddings and peak Saturdays need considerably more lead time. The honest answer depends on the date more than the notice period.

Which wedding dates fill up first in Los Angeles?

Saturdays in May, June, September and October, typically six to twelve months out. Shoulder-season Saturdays and peak-season Fridays go next. Sundays, off-peak Fridays and weekday weddings stay open longest and are the best bet for short notice.

Does booking on short notice limit my options?

Yes, somewhat. You get fewer menu customization options, less runway to refine details, and less flexibility if your guest count changes later. The food and service quality do not change, but the planning window is shorter and decisions get locked in faster.

Why is the Glendale location relevant to short-notice bookings?

Our LA base at 1936 W Glenoaks Blvd puts most metro venues within a short drive, from Burbank and Pasadena to Downtown LA, the Valley and the West Side. Less transit means more scheduling flexibility, and our crews have usually worked the venue before.

What if you are not available on my date?

We will tell you straight away rather than leaving you waiting. It is worth asking about adjacent dates, a shifted service window, or late night taco service only, which is a smaller commitment we can sometimes accommodate when full reception catering is not possible.

Can you still do late night tacos if my reception catering is booked elsewhere?

Often yes. Late night service around 10 or 11 PM is a separate, smaller booking that we can sometimes fit even when full reception catering is not available. Many couples say it becomes the moment guests remember most.

Do short-notice weddings still include dietary options?

Always. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options are built into every menu at no extra charge regardless of how far ahead you book, and we cook entirely seed oil free. Share your dietary breakdown when you call.
