Food Truck Catering Near Me? Here's Where The Lime Truck Goes

Food Truck Catering Near Me? Here's Where The Lime Truck Goes

If you typed "food truck catering near me" into Google, you probably want two answers fast: does this truck actually come to my area, and how far out do I need to book? For most of Southern California, the first answer is yes. The Lime Truck works out of three locations, in Irvine, Glendale, and San Diego, and we cater events from Los Angeles down to San Diego and out to the Inland Empire.

Here's how that breaks down by region, plus what changes when your event is farther from one of our bases.

Where our trucks are based

We started in Irvine in 2010 and Orange County is still home. Since then we've added a Los Angeles location in Glendale and a San Diego location on Market Street. Having three bases matters more than it sounds. It means a truck isn't driving two hours each way to reach your venue, and it's a big part of why we can say yes to more dates, including some short-notice ones.

  • Orange County: Irvine, (949) 232-0690
  • Los Angeles: 1936 W Glenoaks Blvd, Glendale, (323) 417-6721
  • San Diego: 4637 Market St, San Diego, (619) 373-1870

Los Angeles and LA County

Our Glendale location puts us close to Burbank, the Hollywood studios, Pasadena, and Downtown, with a quick run west to Santa Monica and the Westside. We regularly work Hollywood, Studio City, Century City, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Culver City, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Long Beach, El Segundo, Malibu, and the Valley.

LA is where a lot of our film and TV production work happens, along with studio wrap parties, office lunches, and rooftop weddings. LA venues can be tricky for truck access, so we ask about motor courts, street parking, and load-in windows up front. More on that on our Los Angeles catering page.

Orange County

This is where it all started. We cater all over OC, from Irvine and Newport Beach to Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Anaheim, Tustin, Mission Viejo, Dana Point, San Clemente, and Yorba Linda.

OC is also the only region where we offer drop-off catering without the truck. That's handy for a boardroom lunch or a smaller office gathering where there's nowhere to park a truck. Details are on our Orange County catering page.

San Diego and San Diego County

San Diego is our newest market, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise. We now run from a real San Diego location at 4637 Market St, and our SD Google profile sits at 4.9 stars from 22 reviews so far.

We cater the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, East Village, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Mission Bay, Balboa Park, Coronado, Point Loma, North Park, Hillcrest, and up into Del Mar, Encinitas, and Carlsbad. Coastal weddings and downtown office events are the most common bookings. See our San Diego catering page for the full list.

The Inland Empire

We get a lot of requests from Riverside, San Bernardino, Temecula, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, and Corona. Temecula wine country weddings are a big one, along with ranch parties and corporate events near the Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga business corridors.

The IE is farther from our three bases than the coastal cities, so travel is part of the quote. We'll show it clearly instead of burying it. Our Inland Empire food truck catering guide has more on venues and logistics out there.

Beyond those four

We also travel to Palm Springs and Santa Barbara. Travel fees may apply on those trips, so ask early and we'll tell you straight what it looks like for your date.

What changes based on where you are

Distance from our nearest location affects three things:

  1. Travel cost. Events close to Irvine, Glendale, or San Diego usually don't need much of a travel line on the quote. Farther venues do.
  2. Lead time. Our FAQ suggests two to four weeks for most events, and two to three months for weddings and big corporate events. Farther venues benefit from the longer end of that.
  3. Venue logistics. The truck needs a flat, level spot about 30 feet long by 12 feet wide, with roughly 14 feet of overhead clearance so the service window opens. We can plug into a standard outlet or run a quiet generator. Remote venues like vineyards and ranches are fine, we just want to know about the access road ahead of time.

What you get no matter where you are

The truck that shows up in Corona is the same operation that shows up in Newport Beach. That means:

  • A California-Mexican menu cooked to order on the truck, not reheated trays
  • Two-time Food Network Great Food Truck Race champions (Season 2 in 2011 and All-Stars in 2021)
  • Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options on every menu
  • Cooking with zero seed oils, through our partnership with Zero Acre Farms
  • Setup, service, and cleanup handled by our crew

Holiday season is filling up

It's late October, which means company holiday parties, year-end all-hands, and family get-togethers are all landing on the same handful of December dates. We work first come, first served, and the first deposit on a date holds it. If you already know your date, it's worth reaching out this week rather than after Thanksgiving.

How to check if we can come to you

The quickest way is our catering request form. Send your date, venue address or city, rough guest count, and event type. Our team usually gets back to you within 24 hours with availability and a custom proposal. If you'd rather talk to someone, call the location closest to you.
