An 11-year-old California-based food truck brand, serving up Cali-Mexican cuisine, is aiming to expand its food truck and restaurant enterprise via a franchise channel after taking home a second win on Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race” competition.
The Born From The Lime Truck (also called The Lime Truck), which was co-founded by Daniel Shemtob in 2010, has expanded into physical store locations and now has its sights set on becoming a national franchise, according to a press release.
“This is just the beginning of a much bigger vision of where The Lime Truck is headed,” Shemtob, the brand’s executive chef, said in the release.
“From our hand-made tortillas made in-house to our fresh ingredients sourced from farmers we work in partnership with, it has been so rewarding to build our brand in our home market and we are now excited to bring our Southern California vibes, vibrant, bold, flavors and multi-pronged business model to business owners and customers across the country.”
Interested franchisees can franchise a restaurant or combined restaurant and food truck operation.
The Lime Truck won season two of The Great Food Truck Race, beating out seven other teams, and took home first place in this month’s Great Food Truck Race All-Stars season finale.
The brand also operates a healthy catering business with a client list that includes MTV, The Los Angeles Clippers and Nickelodeon. It has two California storefront locations, one in Westwood and another in Irvine.
The brand is all about quality ingredients, healthy food and a rewarding customer experience from start to finish, according to the release. It most recently added a Taco Box to its menu for a take-home, build-yourself experience.
In addition to its victorious appearances on The Great Food Truck Race, the brand has also been cited as one of the top 10 trucks in America by Yahoo!.
